Pumpkin patch = terrorizing Theo

We took the kids to Ms. Heather's pumpkin patch at the suggestion of a friend (we really did love it Frances and thank you for telling me about it!!) this evening. It was right before dinner, but the shade and cool temperature were worth the risk.  Well, I had forgotten that Theo's MDO teachers told me that he was terrified of pumpkins!!  They tried to take a cute picture of him standing near one and said they couldn't get him near them.  Ooops.  So, the second I sat him down in the patch, he started to scream.  So much for the cute picture I hoped to get!  Jack had a blast there and that made the whole trip worth it.  He milked a pretend cow, petted animals at the petting farm, pumping water from a well, sat in a wagon, got his face painted, sat on a giant chicken, and picked out his own pumpkin!!  Theo stuck his hand in a pony's mouth and seemed to really like him, even though I was more than grossed out when he immediately stuck him thumb in his mouth.  Eww.  Mimi and Mama had a good time watching Jack have fun and holding Theo.  Maybe Theo will overcome his irrational fear of harmless pumpkins by next year??!

Oh - that face on Theo is so sad! Cute, but sad!! Glad Jack had fun though & made it worthwhile for you.

Is it wrong that I laughed when I saw those pics of poor Theo though?!
