Trick or treat!

Jack had a full day of Halloween excitement. Once we got home from the pumpkin party at school it was time to put on his costume (The Thing from Fantastic Four) and go trick or treating around the neighborhood. We got together with Alyssa for some quick pictures before parting ways. Theo insisted on eating so we had to head home. The boys looked so cute together in their costumes! Theo passed out in my arms while I passed out candy. He was definitely the cutest pumpkin by far! Jack went around trick or treating with our neighbor Ethan. Jack and Ethan go to school together but Ethan is in kindergarten.

Pumpkin party at Kehoe

Jack's class got to pick a pumpkin to decorate today. He was so excited to go and see Grace, his love at the moment. He talks about Grace all of the time! The kids decorated shirts with their footprints this week and wore them today for the party. It was a fun afternoon!

First visit with Theo

Uncle Glynn and Aunt Sarah stopped by today for a visit to meet Theo on their way out of town. Theo taught uncle Glynn lots of things.... like how to hold a bottle and how important it is to hold a baby's head steady! Jack managed to nap through pretty much the entire visit and had to be woken up from his nap to say hello. Of course he was up before the sun rose this morning so a nap was definitely in order!

Pumpkin carving

Our subdivision had a pumpkin carving contest Saturday and Jack was very eager to participate! He loved the idea of carving a pumpkin and using the tools, but the actual scooping of the innards was not in his game plan. He outsourced that job to our neighbor Stephanie. I was busy feeding Theo (of course!) and did not have to dirty my hands with that job! Our pumpkin won the "scariest pumpkin" award thanks to the handy pattern we followed.

Early birds

Today the boys got up at the same time........ let's suffice to say that the sun was not up yet. I changed Theo's sleeper into his Halloween outfit. He's the cutest little pumpkin that I've ever seen! We have a couple of parties to go to today so I just had to dress Theo up. Gotta make the most of all these Halloween outfits!

Trunk or treat

My MOM's group had a trunk or treat today and Jack donned The Thing costume to go trick or treating. This year he fully understands what trick or treating is and LOVES getting candy. I'm going to have to hide it from him b/c he has a sweet tooth! Theo slept through the whole thing and only opened his eyes as we were leaving! It was a lot of fun and some of the trunks were really creative (not mine though....... what can I say, I don't get out much).

All about Theo

The weather here has been quite cool so I've had to bundle little Theo up when we venture outside. The high today was only 60 degrees! He stayed nice and warm in his carseat under the LSU blanket that my friend Carrie sent him. I tried to snap a picture of him in the Baylor cap that Lauren lent him but he wasn't at all into it. Poor thing looked a little weird in it anyway b/c the cap has a tail on it. Maybe Theo was embarrassed?

I also snapped a picture of him propped up on the couch. He really likes to be part of the action around here and observe what's going on around him. He's started to coo and is just full of smiles! Sorry that the flash was so bright, but he's smiling up a storm in the picture :)

Mimi and Mama's visit

Here's a couple more pictures from the visit last weekend. Theo never slept anywhere but on someone's chest! He's a pretty lucky little dude to have so many grandmother's to love him!! We also snapped Jack trying on his Halloween costume for the first time. He's going to be The Thing from Fantastic Four (he's obsessed with comic book heroes currently). It took a lot of coaxing to get him to actually put the costume on instead of just looking at it through the package. Now he loves wearing it but we thought for several weeks that he'd go trick or treating in plain clothes since he would have nothing to do with his costume. We also got him a Lightning McQueen candy pail this year. Jack can't wait to fill it to the brim with candy!!!!

Jack will hate me for this picture later

Jack shocked us all this weekend by pooping on the potty! He insisted on shutting the door to the downstairs bathroom for privacy! We weren't sure what he was doing in there since we couldn't even peek, but lo and behold, there was poop in the potty when we were allowed inside. He was so proud of himself and we were too! We have a long way to go before he's potty trained, but this is a step in the right direction!

Jack went to two birthday parties this weekend for playgroup friends. One of them was for his good friend Luke. Here the boys are jumping on the "bounce house" with Luke's big brother Tank. Jack ate so much birthday cake this weekend that he should consider dieting! We celebrated Mama's birthday Friday, Luke's on Saturday, and Dean's birthday on Sunday. Whew!

Pumpkin Patch

We took the boys to the local pumpkin patch today and snapped some cute pictures! Alyssa came along for our 3rd year of visiting this pumpkin patch. Jack was much improved over last year when we did some major action photography. He actually sat and posed but we need to work on a cute smiley face (he makes this horrible face when he says "cheese"). Theo enjoyed his first trip and insisted on being held once picture taking was finished. The boys' outfits both had tractors on them!!
We managed to snap a family photo and even a 4 generation shot. Next year we'll have a 13 month old so we'll pretty much be starting all over with the "action photography".

Like mother, like son?

Here is my hospital photo and one of Theo close up. Do you see the resemblance? Do I finally have a child that looks like me? Oh yeah, forgot to add that I weighed 3 whole pounds less than my son!!! I was only 6 lbs 2 oz at birth!

What's up world!

Theo-man has been extra alert lately and wanting to see what's going on around him. He's holding his head up so well now and does not like to be held chest to chest when he's awake. Cousin Ryan stayed with us last night since he and Dave traveled together this week. Theo insisted on hanging out with the boys and listened to the latest music on iTunes. Theo is also "thisclose" to rolling over..... at 6 weeks old......

Mink coat

Gigi gave Theo this chenille blanket back on the day he was born and he loves to sleep under it. Jack also has one, but his is blue. When I put Theo under his blanket in the hospital I had a nurse tell me not to lay him on it "b/c fur can irritate babie's skin". I had to tell her that the blanket was in fact not fur and we both had a good laugh. We still call the blanket Theo's "mink coat" to this day though.... ha ha.

Big boy Jack

Here is the cup that Aunt Bede got for Jack during her Vegas trip. He loves to drink pink lemonade out of it. He's so big!!

Catching a smile is futile

So Theo has been giving us the cutest smiles for weeks now and I've yet to capture it on the camera. Today as I was changing his clothes I attempted yet again and here's what I got. You can see that I was just a fraction of a second late in the middle picture..... but notice the cute dimples! I love it when he smiles!

Theo and Gigi

Gigi came over today so she can watch Theo for me tomorrow. She was a big help at the pumpkin painting by taking "Theo duty". He was nice and alert tonight and I couldn't help but snap this picture of him checking her out. He was sacked out cold just moments later.
