What Will Fat Cat Sit On?
I picked up this book from the library with Theo in mind, hoping we could read this book out loud together. Well, it was very little together and mostly him reading it! Jack read us a Fly Guy book and then Theo read Fat Cat. I'm so proud of my reading boys :)
Dawn does New Orleans
My friend Dawn had never been to the Big Easy and I wanted to show her a good time. I decided the ticket to living it up in the city was to let Dawn pretend to be a bachelorette :) Dawn was a great sport and made up all sorts of silly stories when people asked about her "big day". We all had a great dinner together and showed her the French Quarter. I loved showing Dawn around my neck of the woods and having her meet my friends and family. Can't wait to see her again in October :)

Pinewood Derby race
Jack raced his Cobra car in the Pinewood Derby on Saturday. My friend Dawn was there to help us cheer him on :) Jack's car qualified for the 2nd round which was the top 8 cars. He finished 6th overall. Two of our Den 2 Scouts won awards and we are so proud of them. It was a great day and Dave really pitched in to help the event run smoothly.

Little personalities

Theo cracked me up by coming downstairs in one of Jack's old swim suits (it's a 2T and has the floatation pads inside), a slipper, and a sandal. He wore them all evening too. That's Theo though...... he loves to costume!
Jack is loving reading the Magic Treehouse series and devours a book a day. They are chapter books but have some illustrations and larger print. Time to brainstorm a new series for him. I'd love suggestions that appeal to little boys! No Junie B Jones or Nancy Drew ;)
Ducky heaven

Theo is LOVING swim lessons and that is because his favorite water friends are there. Yes, Theo is a rubber ducky fiend. He has about 20 at home that he swims with at bath time. His instructor throws them around the pool and has him swim to them and then set them on the edge of the pool.
Jack's lessons revolve around refining his strokes and power, as well as decreasing the time it takes for him to turn to take a breath. He's learning how to dive in (last year they started in the pool or just jumped in) and usually belly flops. Poor bub's tummy!
I love having indoor swimming lessons :)
Night out with friends
Babies galore!

Two of my friends have recently had their 3rd babies and I've gotten to visit with them and ooh and aah at their sweetness :) Baby Kate is 2 months old now and baby Armahn was just born yesterday! Both moms are friends through Moms club and Armahn's big brother went to school with Theo last year. So precious!!!

Getting dirty

I met up with a friend after school yesterday at our subdivision park and let the boys burn off some energy. They are little dirt magnets and got absolutely filthy! Normally I don't care all too much, after all, they are boys. But they were in their uniforms and Jack managed to get mud ALL over his pants and step into the pond and get his shoes soaking wet. I had to put them in the dryer and leave them out under the fan all night just so he could wear them to school today. He's a mess :)
Swim lessons

An indoor aquatic rehab facility recently converted over to a swim lesson business here. I signed the boys up since the pool is nice and warm. The gym we go to has tons of outdoor pools but they never seem to get really warm. This is the perfect afternoon activity. Jack is doing a private stroke clinic so he can be good to go when swim team starts back up this summer. Theo is back in learn to swim lessons and I'm laughing that it might take him till he's 8 to learn how to swim. Remember swimming on prozac Theo? :) Just laid-back and loves to float around. Why should he bother kicking? We'll get there, I suppose.

We went to eat dinner the night that Mimi had to fly back to Houston and the kids loved playing the "Dots" game. I had gotten them a game/activity book for the cruise and they both discovered the Dot game then. In my opinion it's the most boring game ever and it seems to go on forever :) You box off dots and put your initial if you are the one to complete the box. Both Jack and Theo love it though :)
Here are the wreaths that I made for Jack and Theo's teachers using mesh. Mesh is so hard to work with unless you have the right supplies. I improvised by wrapping the mesh around a cheap wreath form and then garnishing it with a bow.

Paige's pictures

I knew I'd have my hands full with Theo at the wedding and part of the reception so I didn't fool with bringing my camera to the wedding. Luckily cousin Paige did go to the trouble and took these great pictures. Notice the beautiful touches around the reception hall, full of floral centerpieces and classic accents. The tent that spanned the length of the reception hall out back had more of a "Vegas" feel (to me) and had warm colors and a more contemporary design. The tent is where the specialty bars with the ice sculptures (that the bartenders poured the martinis through), oyster bar, ice cream bar and sitting lounge were all located. The band was awesome and really had a wide variety of music for people to dance to all night. Poor Theo was just DONE after the wedding ceremony and was quite bothered by the noise from the secondline around the zoo, can you tell in the picture? My mom kindly drove across the lake to collect him and put him to bed so Dave and I could enjoy the reception. We had a great time and appreciate all of Paige's pictures!
