Semi Finals
The Braves advanced to the semi-finals today with a win over the Dodgers. The team had a pot luck lunch at the park afterwards and the coaches handed out trophies to the kids. The head coach said something positive about each player and what he said about Jack is that he takes direction well, can be counted on for hits, and always has a great attitude and smile on his face. We play the Red Sox tomorrow for a spot in the championship game. Fingers crossed :)

Playoffs
Baseball playoffs began tonight and the Braves won their first game! They advance on to play the Dodgers on Saturday. Jack was 4-4 with hits and that made this momma proud! The team was on fire tonight and scored 23 runs (lost count, but I think) to the 10 from the other team. Hope they can keep this up for the rest of the playoffs :)
Chamber of Secrets
Jack just finished up the 341 page Chamber of Secrets, the 2nd book in the Harry Potter series :) The 3rd one is waiting for us at the library and we are watching the movie right now. Go Jack!

Sanctuary Swim Meet
The boys' swim team had timed trials today and rocked the house! The kids just compete for their own personal best times, so no pressure (which is great, especially for Theo). Little Theo really kicked it into high gear today and swam all the way across the pool by himself! He's normally so relaxed during practices and just kind of floats around. He had a great stroke and even kicked. We may have a future Michael Phelps with Theo ;)
Jack was on fire as well and gave it his all. I think some healthy competition is a good thing for the boys!

Lotsa Celebrating
We wished Gigi a happy 75th birthday and celebrated Father's Day today by grilling ribeyes in the backyard. The boys have been FULL of energy lately so I took them to get a cheap pool for the backyard. It definitely entertained them for a few hours and allowed us to have a nice lunch outside under the patio. Dave did all of the grilling and it was delish! We enjoyed the cute cake for dessert and then let the kids do more playing. We're trying to teach Theo how to use his brakes vs. hopping off the bike. It's not going so well!
Blue Dog ala Leslie
I went to a local painting place last night to paint the famous Blue Dog. It was a bit of a challenge since the class was "create your own", meaning any background, dog, pose, etc. I went with a lighter background since it's hung in my pink craft room :) A friend I met from baseball last year joined me for the class. Super fun!

Coming Together
My craft room is finally coming together! It's still heavily in the works, but now at least I can get in there and do things. Jack's old train/Lego table was moved out to cousin Rowan, his old bed was moved up to the attic, and his bookshelf was pushed into the closet so I can use it for storage.
I followed a no-sew tutorial from Pinterest to make my faux Roman shades using fabric glue and tension rods. I also made a rolled paper wreath that I'm in the process of sprucing up. My upholstered chair came in a month early and I love the blue it adds to the room! (I am a blue addict. Three rooms in my house are blue). I'm so pleased with the light pink walls (Sherwin Williams Truly Yours).
It's all coming together and I LOVE having a space that I can call my own!!!

Braves Go On
Baseball is winding down and Jack's team played a tough game tonight. The poor kids were dying in the heat and humidity when the game first started and it showed. They battled back and almost came back to win, but fell short by 2 runs. Jack struck out twice before he turned it around and hit two great balls. They have a make-up game on Saturday and then a tournament next weekend. Then we can finally focus on only one sport- swimming!!

Sky VBS
VBS started today at church and the theme is Sky this year. The decorations around church are amazing! Jack has a buddy from swim team in his class and loves having a friend there. Theo is in a preschool room with a kitchen, so he's in heaven :) There are over 600 kids this year. I lucked out and score the preschool photographer gig. It's pretty sweet, especially compared to last year when I worked in the 3 year old room. Ha!!!
Mr. Fabulous
Theo came across one of Dave's bow ties and insisted on wearing it around town this past weekend. Good thing he's cute.......... he can pull it off! Jack will be in the Winnie the Pooh play at church next month and was cast as the Green Narrator. Time to start learning lines!
