Time with Corinne and Parker

The boys and I are in Houston until Tuesday. I'm staying over at Jen & Brian's house helping love on Corinne and Parker and the boys are living it up at Mimi and Papa's! They've gotten to bowl, go to parks and bounce houses, swim and have an Astros game to look forward to on Monday. I'm holding a 6 lb bundle of pure sweetness and have been deemed the resident expert on changing boy diapers :) Here is Corinne with her baby brother, Parker. So cute!!

Doing things himself

Theo has always been, should we say, laid back. He's been content to let us do things for him and times....... they are a changin'. We've had to make a concerted effort to have Theo do things for himself. Like putting on his own shoes. Or wiping his mouth and hands after meals. But we've stuck to our guns and now our little dumpling is empowered :) He can put on his own shoes and take them off as well. He washes his own hands with soap and water with ease.

Theo's last day of MDO

Our run at St. Timothy's MDO has ended :( Theo had such a fun year and loved singing songs and playing with his friends. Look at how many blondes were in the class! How the teachers ever could tell them apart is beyond me! Most of them have tendrils of curls to boot. His class had a pizza party to celebrate the end of the year. We're sure going to miss Ms. Alexis, Ms. Sherry and Ms. Leigh. Theo is moving on to Cedarwood next year (where Jack has gone to school for 2 years). He'll hopefully be in Jack's 3 year old class with Ms. Angerdina....... if we can get him potty trained. Which we're kicking off this weekend. Stay tuned.

Waterspouts

I met up with some friends last week and took Theo to the waterspouts in Old Mandeville. Umm, not sure we'll be going back any time soon. The little skunk found a mud hole and basically made such a complete mess of himself that he's lucky I kept him! And he really wanted nothing to do with the water so cleaning off the mud was a task. He also pushed the boundaries of running far away from the spouts down the trailhead...... and mama don't play that. Brings back memories of Jack doing the same thing at this age. And I really don't like to revisit that time in Jack's life! Ha!

Cousin Parker

The boys got a new cousin on Tuesday! Parker Kent was born 6 weeks early so we are thrilled that he's holding his own on just a little bit of oxygen. Cousin Corinne hasn't gotten to meet her baby brother just yet but hopefully will soon! I'm hoping to see him in the near future as well :)

Autin boys

My friend Rochelle came over for a visit on Saturday with her boys, Tyler and Brady. Her boys are the exact ages of Jack and Theo so they hit it off very well :) We took them to Chick fil a to burn off some energy since it was raining that day. They loved the ice cream treat before the play date ended.

Anna Jayne is 5!

Jack's old playgroup buddy, Anna Jayne, turned five this weekend. She had a pool and water slide party and it was such a blast. Jack loved the water slide but Theo only sat in the corner (look closely at one of the pictures) and refused to go down. Theo did however love eating the cake and ice cream. He sat at the table long after everyone had finished and ate up every drop of ice cream and cake :) What a fun party!

The boys and I went to dinner with some friends on Friday night. Jack has a secret crush on the older sister of his classmate and really I think Theo does as well :) I love these girls and enjoy the refrain of usual boy shenanigans when we are around them. The two blondies almost look related, don't they!!

Captain Jack

Jack was invited to a Mermaid and Pirate birthday party this afternoon. Theo and I attended cousin Elise's 2nd birthday party so I don't have any pictures, other than the few I snapped before we left. Dave and I had a garage sale this morning and just happened to unearth all of the pirate accessories in the attic last night. Even the clip on earring Theo is sporting! The parrot was just too cute!

They were sitting so cute on the couch together but of course they got wild once I brought out the camera!

Jack learns to swim!

Jack started swim lessons yesterday at our gym and he went from learning to hold his breath and stroke to swimming today! I was shocked but so happy!! He has the rest of this week and next to really take off with swimming :) I'm so proud of him.

Cinco de Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo! We had a celebration today at our subdivision park for the Mom's club, complete with a pinata for the kids. Here is Theo taking a turn at bat. He ate about 294953824 pieces of candy before we just had to leave!

Visit with Corinne

I flew over to Houston this weekend for my best friend Jen's baby "sprinkle" (a smaller version of a shower, usually for 2nd children). She is having a boy, Parker, in June and Corinne will be the big sister! Dave held down the fort with the kids this weekend. It basically rained in Louisiana the entire weekend. Poor Dad!
