Jump start....
Kindergarten! Jack takes a weekly computer class at his preschool and they use several programs, one of which is called Jump Start Kindergarten! Gigi and Dada gave him this program for his birthday and we put it in for the first time today (since he's started it at school now and is familiar with it). Theo loves to sit nearby and watch and listen. One day he'll be the one navigating around with ease. Beats having the kids wrestling on the ground like usual ;)
Beignets
This picture is from last weekend. We wrapped up the wedding festivities by meeting up with Uncle Miller and Aunt Sarah for beignets. Theo was less than friendly and refused to even sit at the table with everyone for over 20 minutes. He was still very upset about being left behind with a babysitter we think! He did warm up at the last moment and offered up a hug to Uncle Miller. Jack wolfed down 4 beignets and some hot chocolate. It was the best day ever in his opinion!

Post-wedding lunch
Dave and I took the kids to Slidell yesterday for a crawfish boil with all the family from the wedding. Jack and Theo had their first Hubig's pie ever, I think. Jack also ate tons of crawfish and shrimp. He's even learning to peel his own :) Jack and Ryley hung out again. They really forged a friendship this week. Usually they don't give each other the time of day at family gatherings since other girls or boys are around so it's been really sweet to see them play so well.

The Wedding!
Cousin Anne's wedding was simply perfect! She was a beautiful bride and was so relaxed and happy the whole weekend. I managed not to get any pictures of the groom somehow but he and his family are just great, great people. I had a lot of fun getting to know the Waddell family. It was also wonderful seeing all of the Hadskey clan again. Jack and his cousin Ryley were the ring bearer and flower girl for Anne. They did a fabulous job of walking down the aisle and sitting through the long Catholic service. He tired out quickly at the reception so our night was cut short. Theo stayed at home with a babysitter for all the wedding events. I'm not sure that he'll forgive us. He's pretty pouty at being left out.
Bridal luncheon for Anne
This has been a very special weekend for us. Cousin Anne got married in New Orleans and Jack was honored to be the ring bearer for her. I was invited to the bridesmaids luncheon at Antoine's in New Orleans (a real treat for those who have never been) on Thursday. It was a great kick-off to the wedding fun!

Goodbye Ladybugs!
Mimi and Papa gave Jack a ladybug habitat for his birthday and we've been "raising" ladybugs from eggs ever since. It was fun seeing them go through their stages of metamorphosis over the last few weeks. We decided to share the fun with Jack's class and most importantly to let Jack release the ladybugs with all of his friends at school. Jack's teachers were so great and took all of these wonderful pictures for me. Ladybugs can live up to a year in the wild but only 2 weeks in captivity so we're happy to have our little friends out and about near Jack's school :)

Fun Saturday
I took Jack to get a new bike today, one that will transition with him for a few years. The handlebar and seat both adjust so they can grow as he does. He loves it and rode in circles around our driveway this afternoon. Theo was all over the place, chasing the hula hoop, dancing with the Mardi Gras hat on his head, riding the tricycle in the driveway.........

Assorted Easter pics
The boys and I drove over to Houston on Good Friday and spent a few days at Mimi and Papa's house. Mama came over for the weekend and had some quality time with the kids. Jack and Theo scored a ridiculous amount of candy and treats for Easter due to the sheer amount of people that love them very much and gave them Easter baskets. If only every child were so loved. Seriously :(
Aunt Jen gave Jack a Spiderman checkers set and he LOVED playing it with Papa. Papa showed him the ropes and patiently instructed him on how to not tell everyone what move he was going to do, how you always have to be thinking of the next play, etc. It was really sweet and I could totally tell Jack was hooked from the first game. Soon he'll be on to chess......
Theo's allergies are so awful right now. He was pretty much miserable in one way or another the entire visit. He got some good snuggles in with Mama as she read him Peter Cottontail though. And he will be getting his hair trimmed tomorrow. Promise. We're not grooming him to be a sheep dog or anything ;)
Lastly, we met up with all of Papa's family for brunch on Easter Sunday. It was really great to see everyone. We all celebrated Aunt Ginger's birthday a little early. Theo and Jack loved on Grandvonnie, Granny Cheryl and Grandpa Marv, Aunt Robyn, Uncle Kevin and cousins Melanie (boyfriend Rodrigo) and Ryan too.
Cupcakes galore
