The changes to the playroom are almost complete. I ordered this small computer armoire about a month ago and it just came in (love site to store shipping on Walmart.com) so Dave and I assembled it this weekend. Jack spent the weekend over at Gigi and Dada's house so we were able to manage this while Theo napped yesterday. Dave set the old computer all up and created a Transformers background for Jack. He put icons for Starfall, Nick Jr., Noggin and Playhouse Disney (education game sites) for Jack to click on that take him right to the sites. This will be perfect for a year or two from now when he may have homework or want to do things online for school. Yes, we're just a year away from Kindergarten! Notice the blue walls and Theo's curl (just b/c it's hot out).

Jack and the big slide
Our gym has a really fun slide that Jack fell in love with last summer. He's old enough and tall enough now to ride it all by himself. I went with him one time and showed him how to carry his mat, climb the stairs up to the slide while holding the mat and the rail, and to make sure he asked the lifeguard for help setting up his mat. He did beautifully and I've never ridden with him since! He's even gone down the super-fast enclosed slide that literally catapults him into the pool. He loves it and has proven to be quite the daredevil!!! Go Jack!

Having fun with Juliet
I watched Theo's woman, Juliet, on Friday and took all of the kids to Toddlearn. The three of them were sardines in my backseat, which is clearly designed only for 2 car seats! I squeezed a booster seat in the middle of the two car seats and that's where Jack rode. Jack spent most of his time at Toddlearn trying on costumes. Theo ran around like crazy and hid in the ball pit.

Global Wildlife
Mimi and Papa are in town for Memorial Day weekend and we took them to Global Wildlife today to see the exotic animals there. Jack loved feeding the longhorns and the giraffes. Theo spent most of our tour throwing out the pellets to the deer. Everyone had a great time and we managed to keep the boys entertained for 95% of the 1 1/2 hour tour. Both boys took excellent naps and that is always a great indicator of how much fun they had!

Spring Blast at school
Today was Jack's last day of school and the entire preschool performed various songs for their parents. Jack was seated right behind a classmate and it was next to impossible to get a good shot of him. We heard him though! He sang very loudly and was animated too! We may have a budding Thespian on our hands because he sured loved the attention today.
After the performance was over, the kids headed over to the playground to have fun. There was a water slide, a sprinkler, lots of booths set up with fun things to do (like eat a powdered donut from a sting without using your hands). Jack had tons of fun and is now officially out of school for summer!

Jack and Theo's new bedding
We plan on bunking up the boys together once Theo's crib days are over (hopefully not anytime soon!!!) and I've had my eye on some new bedding for months now. I decided that I liked this reversible comforter set and that it would carry the boys into the tweens well. I got them the cutest superhero sheets (Jack has Batman and Theo has Spiderman) that blend in well with the bedding. The trundle mattress is all dressed with the bedding until Theo is ready to get a big bed of his own. We're kind of toying with bunk beds, but we're not sure if Theo can be trusted with a ladder. As much as Jack would love having top bunk, we may just end up with side-by-side twin beds!
Notice the plethora of "friends" at the foot of Jack's bed.

Making room
Party of two
We got a ceiling fan put back up on the patio (had one put in last July and Gustav destroyed our patio....... less than a month later), so we've been spending a lot of time outside. Dave and I grilled on the barbeque and the boys had a nice picnic. Then they proceeded to get filthy dirty and needed a bath before nap time. Oh well, Jack napped so we must have done something right!

Anna Jayne's birthday
Dave took Jack to his friend Anna Jayne's birthday party today. She had a princess tea party, complete with karaoke! Jack and all of the boys dressed up as their favorite super heroes while the girls were all various Disney princesses. Jack had fun and decorated a crown with dinosaurs (his obsession lately). Thanks for the great time, Anna Jayne!!
Katie's graduation
Cousin Katie graduated from Tulane medical school today and I drove over with Bitsy and Glynn to help celebrate this accomplishment. Katie will be starting her preliminary year in Internal Medicine next month and then will go on to specialize in Dermatology. She and her husband, Arnaud, and baby Elise of course, will be traveling to France tomorrow for a month-long visit with his family. She'll come back and immediately start up her residency.
Katie's parents, Dianne and Mike, hosted a wonderful reception for Katie at their house. Mike and Dianne's home looks amazing and they have spent countless (years) getting it back in order following Katrina.
Katie, we are so proud of you and all that you have accomplished. You got your Master's in Public Health and your MD, on top of having your first baby. You are amazing and we're all so proud of you!!!
