The furniture we bought right after Theo was born turned out to be a MAJOR disappointment. The pillow cushions were ripping away from the frame and we were getting poked in the back by springs! Not good. So I sold that stuff on Craigslist to a student who was happy to get cheap furniture and Dave and I picked out two new sofas. We also have a swivel chair coming...... Here is Jack enjoying the empty space for a couple of hours this morning. The boys were crazy with excitement!

Hornets camp
Jack started a mini basketball camp run by the New Orleans Hornets at our gym. It meets once a week for 5 weeks and then the campers perform before a Hornets game at the New Orleans arena. Today the campers learned some basic skills from Coach Dan and Hugo the hornet. Jack had never really dribbled a basketball prior to today and is the youngest camper...... so he's got his work cut out for him. But he's having fun and had a big smile on his face the whole time.

Happy Valentine's Day!
The boys have so many people that love them and we are very, very blessed! They got scores of sweet valentines in the mail from friends and family. Many had stickers, money or even gift cards! Wow. Here is our celebration mantle full of the cards they received. Uncle Dane and Aunt Debbie brought over huge stuffed animals for them that they LOVE. Gigi and Dada also indulged them with toys from Toys R Us (which they are playing with at the very second). Happy Valentine's Day to everyone from our family!!
Spanish Town parade
We traveled over to Baton Rouge this weekend for the Spanish Town parade and just to have a visit with Gigi and Dada. Jack is Mr. Mardi Gras and totally works it for some beads. Theo, on the other hand, could really care less and wanted only to run into crowds of people. We all took turns keeping tabs on Theo. There was about a 2 hour wait from when we parked the car until the parade came to where we were standing so we really had to be creative with entertaining the kids. Dave bought the boys whistles and I brought their Valentine cookies along. The cookies alone got us 30 minutes ;) We ended up leaving about 1/2 way through the parade since Theo was clearly done with it all. Jack could have stayed hours more. Hope Theo can shape up by Tuesday for all the big Mardi Gras day parades in New Orleans.........

Boy explosion!
This is what our house looks like these days. I pulled 11 or 12 bags of the boys' clothes down from the attic to sort. Everything from itty bitty baby stuff to Jack's 4T things from last year. I found tons of 3T stuff for Theo that I had totally forgotten about! I have 3 friends that are having boys and are in need of boy clothes. Ask and you shall receive ;) I think I'm most excited about my best friend finding out that she's expecting a BOY! I'll have a niece and a nephew to spoil now. And pass down boy stuff to. Woo hoo!!

Theo's Mardi Gras
Theo's MDO class attended the preschool Mardi Gras parade at the church today and I sent my camera so his teachers could take pictures for me. Parents don't really attend parties at this age since the little ones would get very distracted, so I never have pictures from MDO. Well, Ms. Sherry hooked me up and took tons of great pictures! The kids gave out Valentine's to one another and then second-lined into the gym for the parade. Theo caught some beads and seemed to enjoy himself. Aren't he and his little friends simply precious?

Patti comes for a visit
My friend Patti came to town today. She moved to Dallas last year and we've missed her. She had baby Sarah just about 3 months ago and I loved holding a bitty baby again. Some friends from the Mom's club also came to visit with her for a couple of hours. All the kids had fun playing together, just like old times.

Yes, we live in Louisiana
We visited the Insta Gator alligator ranch just outside of Abita Springs today to take a tour and see the gators. Both kids were at their finest immediately upon getting there (kind of in the middle of nowhere) and we had to confine Theo to the stroller since he was so lovely. Theo was even more fun when we visited the alligator pins where our tour guide instructed us to be quiet and still since the alligators were on edge from their annual selection process (measuring alligators to be sold- think alligator purses). Jack took a lot of coaxing to even enter the building and Theo was shouting "alligator" or "alligators eating marshmallows" as we fed them treats. At the end of the tour we got to hold baby alligators. Everyone really enjoyed that part, mostly since we took Theo out the the car to watch a movie. If you're ever in the area, be sure to check out the alligator ranch. But leave your two year olds behind.

Eve parade
Mimi drove in yesterday to catch a Mardi Gras parade with us. We left Theo home with Dave and met up with a bunch of friends from Jack's school and my Mom's club. We lugged out the ladder and seat and Jack refused to get in! Not an easy feat by any means. He did end up sitting with Theo's friend, Eric, in Eric's ladder seat. Other kids we know sat in our seat. I think next time I'll save myself the trouble!
Jack and Mimi caught tons of stuff. I stayed back and held up my Who Dat sign and chatted with friends :) And danced. A little. Mimi got clocked in the face by a bunch of beads and learned an important lesson: always protect your face and never look away when a float is in front of you!
