Haven't done this in a while, so here are some things that the boys are doing and saying....

Theo-isms:

He's started saying "okay" in response to me telling him what to do. Cracks me up!

"help eee" for "help me"

"unsnap me" or "buckle me" The boy is obsessed with snapping himself in his carseat or in a highchair at a restaurant.

He's all into his knees and belly these days. He knows all of his body parts and can identify them on drawings!

We've been watching "The Letter Factory" and he imitates the sounds. So cute! Not that he knows his letters yet, ha ha.

He climbs into his car seat and booster seat now. We're working on independence with his daily activities. He goes to the bathroom and climbs on the stool to wipe his mouth and "wash his hands" even though he can't reach the faucet yet.

He told me today "Handy Manny is up next" after he finished watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He still adores Mickey Mouse.

He calls Thomas the Train "Tommy Train". I love it. He loves playing with the train set in his room when he wakes up and before bed.

Theo loves throwing and kicking balls. He perfectly content to chase a ball around to burn off extra energy.

When a show or dvd ends he'll tell us it "skipped". The car dvd was skipping a lot at one point and this is where he picked this saying up.

He loves puzzles, perhaps as much as Jack does, and will sit down and complete his puzzles. He does love to roam off with the pieces so I had to individually bag them up to stay organized.

He insists on using a fork at meals. He will not finger-feed himself anymore. He's very civilized ;)

Jack-isms:

Jack is a curious little man. He asks me the most out-there questions sometimes. Here are a few that come to mind:
"what is in blood?"
"what is Jesus' last name?"
"how do clouds float?"

He is now beginning to ask "how do babies get in your stomach?" The dreaded question every parent fears!

He completely dresses himself from head to toe and loves to race against his brother. Everything is a contest!

He sits at the bar to eat meals. One day Theo will join him there.

Jack says "emember" instead of "remember". Cracks me up.

His favorite saying to be goofy is "eyeball". Everything is "eyeball" when he's joking around.

He loves to say "you're kidding me" when we are silly with him. He can tell when we're not being "serious".

Jack still wakes up bright and early but quietly waits for the rest of the house to wake up. He plays with his Transformers or does puzzles.

Jack is a whiz at figuring out how to assemble things (puzzles, games, etc) and only has to be shown once. Then he can walk you through, step by step, on how to put it together. Sound like anyone you know? :)

Jack LOVES to wrestle with his brother and will egg him on to get Theo to hit him. The boys wrestle all day long and both of them love it. I call it "cage fighting". They'll just lay on top of each other on the ground and giggle away. Boys!

I get to say his prayer at night and then he calls out all of the people we're thankful for- Gigi, Dada, Mimi, Papa, Mama, Ashley, Cody, Uncle Bill and Aunt Sonja, Uncle Miller and Aunt Sarah, Uncle Dane and Aunt Debbie, Uncle Brian and Aunt Jen and cousin Corinne. Sometimes our neighbors, Don and Cheryl, become Aunt and Uncle too! Then he'll say "and everyone on earth". So sweet.

These are just a smidgen of the things that Jack and Theo say and do. They are growing up so quickly that I have to write down some of it before it's gone!

We hit 20, 000

No one came forward as the 20,000th visitor.......... so top honors go to my mom as the 20,001st visitor!! Go Mimi!

Fun at the park

We had nothing to do today and as many of you know, that is kind of daunting sometimes. I called a couple of friends and we all met up at a shaded park. There were 6 kids total and they all had a BLAST. Theo is finally safe at parks with little supervision (He stops at drop offs on equipment, etc) so this was actually a good experience for us all. Jack has turned into a climbing fanatic and spent most of his time climbing the structures with Alyssa. Both kids managed to get filthy from sweat and sand but that was easily remedied with a bath and a nap!! :)

Tank and Luke come to visit

I took the boys to a play date at Mira's house this afternoon and got to see our old friends, Tank, Luke and baby Kyle. They moved to Houston in December but were passing through today. A lot of other kids were at this play date and it was fun. It was kind of drizzly weather but the kids didn't mind very much. Theo got in the kiddy pool fully clothed! Jack stripped down to his Diego undies. Extreme opposites! Theo also ate his first corndog on the stick. He kept licking it and it took a lot of convincing to get him to finally take a bite!

Pics from Betsy's camera

I often get together with my friend Betsy and her kids, Scott and Juliet. Here are a few pictures that she sent me from this summer. She has this crazy wig from her childhood (I know, crazy right?) that Juliet loves wearing. Theo and Jack also got in on the fun and it was hilarious. Here they are putting on a show for us. Betsy actually has musical instruments at her house...... which are strictly forbidden in mine for sanity purposes ;)

20, 000 hits

I checked out my ticker and we're getting super close to 20, 000 hits! It will be neat to see who is the special visitor. Every time you visit, check to see what number the ticker is on. If you see 20, 000, email me and I'll announce you as the "winner". No special prize or trip for this honor... just a shout out!

Molly's birthday!

Dave took Jack out for a day of Best Buy, lunch and a movie.... so Theo and I headed over to help Molly celebrate her 3rd birthday! She had a waterslide, which Theo LOVED, and a bounce house. Everyone was so nice and we even met a little girl born the day after Theo at the same hospital. We lamented on how their first birthdays turned into evacuation parties for Hurricane Gustav! Such a small world. I managed to catch Theo kissing Juliet. She is his steady girlfriend and it's cute to see how much they love each other. Happy birthday, Molly!

Camp Mimi and Papa

We've been out of pocket for a week, as you may have noticed. We took the boys for their first ever dual trip to Mimi and Papa's house (Theo has never gone to stay without us there) and then boarded a plane and left for the Cayman Islands. The kids had a ball..... as evidenced by the pictures. Mimi and Papa kept them busy, busy, busy. They went to the circus, a Noah's Ark themed water park, the pool in their subdivision with a giant water slide and an indoor inflatable place, just to name a few. Theo was fearless and followed his brother up an inflatable slide! He LOVED it. Mimi gave the boys surprises everyday and even made t-shirts for the boys to wear. Jack and Theo got to play with Sissy the cat and had so much fun visiting with Mimi and Papa and all of Papa's family. Mama even drove over and stayed a couple of days. The best part of it all was that Mimi said the boys were so good and so much fun that she'll take them both again next summer! Score for us!!!!

Pics from Aunt Sonja

Aunt Sonja just emailed me some pictures from her visit a couple of weeks ago. Here are Uncle Bill and the boys, cousin Ashley with Theo and then Dave and I hanging out with Sonja. The boys loved spending time with my family and hopefully will get to see them again soon :)

Percy Quin

Dave's family just wrapped up it's annual family reunion in Mc Comb, MS this weekend. This was the easiest year for us with the boys. We left the pack and play and Theo's booster seat behind. We made it just fine and brought very little toys! Jack and Theo got to see all of their third cousins again, which always makes for a great photo op (they grow so much each year). We also got to celebrate cousin Anne's engagement to JD!! Jack or Theo will get to be a ring bearer, depending on the church rules and we couldn't be more thrilled (for them and us. ha ha). Jack had a blast with Aunt Liz and Aunt Wyolene putting together the 1000 piece puzzle. He was amazed and really loved participating in this annual tradition! Jack and Theo had lots of quality time with Gigi and Dada and tons of second and third cousins who we affectionately call "aunts and uncles". See you again next year Hadskey family!!

Mom is 32!

32 is going down on the books as one of my best birthdays! Dave sketched me this beautiful portrait of Jack and Theo, Jack serenaded me with "happy birthday" right as I walked out of my bedroom this morning (so sweet), shared a cupcake with my boys, had TONS of greetings and cards from friends (including my niece Corinne singing to me), got a call from my mom even though she was cruising around St. Lucia, and topped off the day by going out with some great friends (Dave had to travel). It was a great day from start to finish and I really don't think I've ever felt this loved! Thank you everyone :)
