More anniversary party pictures

A big thank you to Rosie for taking so many wonderful pictures at Glynn and Bitsy's party. Here's the link to them: photo album

Glubs

This is Jack's latest obsession. He can pick out gloves anywhere..... when someone at school wears them, on tv, you name it! I scoured Mandeville and finally found some that fit children. He was super excited to have some glubs! I'm sure they'll be making their debut at the Mardi Gras parades we're going to next weekend.

Here are the latest and greatest about Jack: He's essentially a full-blown 3 year old now. Full of words and as strong willed as ever. He loves going to school at Kehoe and talks about his friends, especially his girlfriends at school. He still loves to play with his trains and cars. We got him a bunch of picture books for Christmas and he loves to have us read to him. I swear he knows several books by heart and can "read" along with us. He spells lots of words and soon we'll be learning to write letters. Jack loves to draw and has recently learned to draw a car, complete with wheels and windows. Jack can have full-blown conversations with people on the phone and answers questions very well. He's still as sweet as ever to his baby brother. Jack is so independent that sometimes I forget he's still 2. He turns on lights in the rooms he goes in, can wash his hands with soap by himself and then dry off his hands and turn off the light when he's done. He puts his socks and shoes on by himself as well. He still lets me pick out his clothes, but I know the day will soon come when he wants to dress himself too. He loves time with his Daddy and is into everything that his dad is in to..... comic books, superheros, cars, football..... it's touching to see them have so much fun together.

We're so blessed to have such a loving child. We love you Jackson Neil!!

Theo cuteness!

I went and filled out all the forms for Theo's Mother's Day Out for this Fall. Spots go like hotcakes at our church, where Jack went last year, but we were lucky and got Theo in for the young toddlers. It felt kind of funny doing all this with a 4 month old in tow, but by the Fall he'll be a year old.... sniff sniff. All of the teachers were oohing and ahhing over him.... but seriously, how cute is he in his little striped outfit?? He flashed his dimples and they all melted :)

I haven't updated much about him recently. He's rolling over now and officially a little grabby-hands jr. He manages to pull my hair the second I pick him up and he holds on for dear life. He's eating 2 cereal bottles (b/c he has a major appetite) and a bowl of cereal mixed with baby food at night. I've given him sweet potatoes, pears and applesauce so far. He's liked them all but he really goes wild for pears! I mean, smacking his little lips wild. Theo has his hands in his mouth non-stop and I just know a little tooth is going to sprout soon. He loves to have his gums massaged (I haven't felt a jagged edge of a tooth yet... thankfully). Theo will have nothing to do with a pacifier and sucks his thumb in his crib and when we're out and about. I've also discovered that his fine baby hair is starting to shed. Jack's did the same thing at around 3 months old and his hair came back in blonde blonde. Theo's hair is already really light so we'll see how it comes back in.......

He's also started just laughing out loud all the time..... at the simplest things. It's the most precious sound ever. It's amazing how much I love this baby. He's pure sunshine... so laid back and content. Next week he'll turn 5 months. What I wouldn't give to freeze time and keep him this age forever.

Brrrr

The weather here changes daily, but it's gotten downright cold recently. I put one of Jack's old hats on Theo yesterday.... the Elmer Fudd hat..... and here's how he looked. Pretty funny! He wasn't too amused though and I had to take it off by the time we got to the car b/c it had slipped down over his eyes.

Hey brother!

Theo just loves to watch his brother, no matter where he might be. He's really getting interested in our food and he was watching his brother eat dinner in this picture. It won't be long before he's swiping at our forks!

Here's Jack playing with a Thomas carrier that Aunt Christy sent him for Christmas. He was so excited that his trains had a place to sleep :)

Back from the beach

Dave and I went to Destin... alone.... this weekend for a sales meeting. Gigi and Dada kept the boys and both did great. Theo slept till around 7 each morning and Jack slept extra late till 8. Wish they did that for us! Jack usually gets up around 6:30-7 am, so 8 am is way late for him. Here Jack is holding an owl that he made at school. I asked him which letter owl starts with and he said "o". So smart! There is also a picture of him curled under a blanket watching tv. This is his new favorite position (no doubt he got this from watching mommy in the same pose) to watch tv.
Theo got his first taste of sweet potatoes tonight. He liked it, as you can see. He hasn't met a food that he doesn't like yet though....

Doin' chores

Our laundry has at least tripled since little T.O. came into our lives. He's a bit of a spitter sometimes, though he is getting better. Between the two boys, Dave and I are lucky if we ever have clean clothes to wear because we're always folding their clothes and not our own! I had to put some laundry up today so I gave Theo a ride upstairs. He liked it :)

Theo is also grabbing anything and everything he can get his little hands on. He pulls hair, grabs toys, and when possible, puts them into his mouth. Here he is making a reach for his mobile. Won't be long until either the crib mattress moves down or the mobile has to go...... I keep telling him not to grow anymore but he never listens.

Surprise!!!!

Dave's parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 7th at the BCS Championship game. What they didn't know was that we, along with his brother, had planned a surprise party for friends and family yesterday. Suffice it to say that they were very surprised to see their closest friends and tons of family there (they thought they were just going to lunch with a couple of friends after church). The biggest surprise was Bitsy's uncle Joe, who traveled in from Waco for the party. He and his wife Mary Ann were the best present of all!

Here is a link to all of the pictures. There were simply too many to upload them all. photo album

Baby legs

The newest thing in baby fashion is leg-warmers for babies called Baby Legs. I bought some for Theo and I must say that he's got the fine, cubby legs one needs to pull them off. He looks pretty stinking cute in them!!! Edited to add link for curious mommies: baby legs

Geaux Tigers

LSU plays in the National Championship game tonight in New Orleans! The boys are so excited about the game and are decked out in purple and gold from head to toe. Theo looks about 8 in these pictures, but I swear he's only 4 months. The outfit he's in is 6-9 months though.......

Eating wheaties

Theo is loving his cereal, even if it does get everywhere. He moves so much and looks all around that the cereal ended up on his nose. He just smiled and smiled for me while I was feeding him though! He loves to eat- does it show?

Spiderman overload

Jack's current obession is Spiderman. He has Spiderman pj's, Spiderman slippers, lunchbox, backpack, etc etc. Here's a picture of him on his way to school today wearing his backpack. There is also a picture of him eating m&ms, which he loves. He'll do just about anything to earn m&ms!

4 month stats

Theo went for his 4 month visit today and weighs an impressive 15 1/2 lbs and is 25 1/2 inches long. His head circumference is a whopping 18 inches... huge!! The nurse said he's going to be really smart with such a big head. He's sleeping off his shots right now.

Here are some belated pictures from Thanksgiving that I just got from my mom's camera. We went over to my aunt and uncle's house in College Station for the day. Jack was obsessed with my cousin Cody, who was sweet and played trains with him and let him rough-house with him. Jack evened warmed up to my cousin Ashley whom he thought was a babysitter last year and wouldn't go near. Gotta laugh at that one!

There is also a picture of my high school English teacher, Mrs. Fernelius, holding Theo. She and her husband Dennis were nice enough to drive over to meet Theo and play with Jack!

Feed me Seymour

Theo is officially 4 months old and at our house that gets you some cereal from a spoon. He was unsure at first, like all babies are. But as you can see he caught on very quickly. This is the child that is taking a whopping 40 oz of formula though, so he needs some serious groceries to keep him full! Jack was very curious of his brother eating at the table and wanted in on the action. He loves his baby brother and was very sweet with him. I told him that we need to be proud of Theo b/c this is a big moment in a baby's life so he went and gave him a kiss on the mouth!!

Happy New Year!

Hard to believe this time last year I had just found out that I was pregnant with Theo. What a difference a year makes! He's now 4 months old and rolling over, amongst other things. Our friends Jen and Bob hosted a New Year's party today and we were sure to eat our cabbage and black eyed peas for good fortune and health. Theo was able to scam on some pretty ladies his age and Jack had a blast with the boys there. He ended up in a Superman costume and his friend Dean was the Human Torch. Thanks for having us over Jen and Bob! We look forward to next year's party!
