The boys decorated a thank you sign for their counselors on the last day of camp. I coached them to tell their teachers "Thank you so much, I had a great time". I'm not sure if Theo followed through but Jack did and of course he was lavished with attention and praise :) He told me that his teachers told them they loved him and he said "I love you too". Awwww. He's making strides in being more warm and fuzzy lately and I'm loving this (he's a serious little guy- loves being goofy but social pleasantries just aren't his strong suit sometimes). He told Dave and I on the night of our anniversary "Hope you have a nice dinner. Go out and have fun". He also came out as we were leaving and hugged me and told me that he loved me. I thought that was just the sweetest thing ever! What a little gentleman he's becoming :)

My friend Betsy came by today with her baby, Mark. We let Theo hold him and I'm not sure Theo knew what to make of him! He's never really been around many babies but he was very sweet to Mark and seemed to enjoy holding him. He didn't get jealous when I held Mark either which makes me think back to how jealous Jack used to get at this age! Ha.

Camp Kehoe

Theo's counselors gave me a disc of pictures from his two weeks at camp. He was in the 2 year old class and I think most of the kids were a fresh two so he seems so much older (he'll be three in one month exactly!). He had so much fun and I think really relished getting to do something fun, especially with his brother. I didn't get a disc of pictures from Jack's counselors :(

Joe Cool

Here the boys are this morning on the way to the last day of camp. They've had so much fun and I got to see Jack's old teachers from when he went to school there at 2! Jack just left with Gigi and Dada to catch the train to Memphis. They'll be staying at Uncle Miller and Aunt Sarah's house this weekend. Big fun ahead :)

Kids and the camera

Now the boys LOVE to take my camera and snap pictures of themselves and things in the house. Jack managed to get some really cute candids of Theo :) And here's one of the boys tonight at dinner out playing with the cruise ship set that Aunt Sarah and Uncle Miller gave Jack. Big fun!

Ella's birthday

Jack's little friend from school had a party today at a kids' cooking school. The kids made their own pizza dough and sauce and then ate their creations! Jack had a blast since he loves to help me cook. The birthday girl wanted "pixie sprinkles" on her pizza so all of the kids ended up doing that too! Jack was covered in flour and cake by the end of the party but had the best time. Happy birthday, Ella.

First week of camp

The boys have been loving summer camp this week (at the school Jack attended at age 2)and have done all sorts of fun things! Jack has gone rock climbing twice and did pottery in between really becoming a strong swimmer. He managed to snag camper of the day, the music high note award for participation and camper of the week!! We couldn't be prouder of him.

Theo seems to be loving camp as well and has gotten pool time as well this week, although he's not swimming on his own :p He also did pottery and got the music high not award for participation. Jack's old teacher, Ms. Mary, stopped by today and saw Theo and left a sweet note for me in his folder. She was so surprised at how big he had gotten since she saw him last (as a 9 month old!!).

The boys have one more week of camp at Kehoe and we can't wait to see what they do next!

Happy 8th!!

Dave and I went out to eat tonight to celebrate 8 happy years of marriage :) It was such a fun dinner and we just laughed and talked. In other news, Theo got "High Note" of the day for participating the most in music class (the child loves to sing, so no surprise) and Jack got camper of the day yesterday at Kehoe summer camp. The kids are LOVING day camp and are making friends and just generally having a blast!!!

Baby Mark

My friend Betsy had baby Mark almost 2 weeks ago and I wanted to capture some of his newborn sweetness :) I went over this morning and Betsy and I did our best to get some pictures of him for his birth announcement. Here are three that are my favorite. He's so sweet (and big- 9 lbs 7 oz) and has a dimple on the left. I have a soft spot for dimples :)

Cleaning up

Jack has been a HUGE help to me since he came back home on Saturday night. He's been earning an allowance now for several weeks by doing chores like feeding the cat, getting the mail/paper for me, but now he's having to pick up some of the slack with my chores too :) Theo made a huge mess with breakfast so Jack got out the sweeper vac and cleaned it right up! My future daughter-in-law can thank me :)

Start of summer camp

The boys are both going to Kehoe-France summer camp for two weeks. It's a big day for Theo since he's never been old enough to attend anything until this summer. He's wearing Jack's old camp uniform so it sure was sweet going through the piles and finding these little shorts (kinda snug on Mr. Theodore) that Jack wore when he was 2 & 3. I think Theo even has Jack's old teacher, Ms. Kelly, as his camp teacher. You just have to laugh at these boys. I get the most random faces when I have them pose for a picture.

Fun with the camera

The boys are home and I'm trying to juggle not doing too much lifting or twisting with two active boys. So I got creative. I had the boys build lego structures and then when they were ready for me to see it, I'd pass off the camera for them to snap a pic and show me (saved me a trip in the other room, countless times). This is what they came back with....... priceless!

To Infinity and Beyond!

On the final day of Camp Mimi and Papa, the boys got to see NASA and learn all about space, rockets and astronauts! Jack LOVES anything technical so this was right up his alley. I've been steering him into the career path of aerospace engineer (like my friend, Carrie) so maybe this will spark an interest! Ha. The boys wrapped up the day at Cici's pizza and got their faces painted.

Thanks Mimi and Papa (and previously, Gigi and Dada) for a wonderful week, filled with such fun things. My boys are about an hour out and I can't wait to see them!

Day 3

Day 3 of Camp Mimi and Papa and they did not disappoint! The boys went to see a movie and then played at the mall for a bit. Then they had some puzzle and wrestling time (always a hit!) before meeting up with Grandvonnie for dinner :)
