Jack is really into sunglasses nowadays. He's lost a few pairs over the past few months and we've made up for lost time. He has about 3 pair right now.... I showed him the various ways to rest the sunglasses when he's not wearing them and this is the way he does it the most! So cute :)

New toys
Dave got the boys some Star Wars action figures this weekend. Jack plays with his on the "stage" that it came in and Theo.... well, he chews on his. I got a play table off Craigslist for Theo today and it's a toss up for who likes it more. That seems to be how things go here. Jack enjoys being around his brother and Theo obviously loves to be around him! On a side note, Theo's top 3 teeth are cutting. Two front ones and a side tooth. Poor baby!

Happy Memorial Day!

We had a low-key day.... grilled some hamburgers and hotdogs with our friends Patti, Eric and their son Andrew. Jack had as much fun with Andrew (who just turned one) as Theo did! He played in the gravel box with Andrew and then kicked balls around with him. I guess he'll be tickled when his baby brother is able to walk and play with him like Andrew can!
Jill's wedding

After Connor's party, we headed over to St. Francisville, Louisiana for Jill's wedding. Jill and Dave went to LSU together and she's stayed in touch by Christmas card every year since then. It was a small, intimate wedding and was so much fun. Dave and I danced and met some of Jill's co-workers at Emory University that were really nice. She is finishing up her Ph.D in Neuropsychology this summer and then moving out to Pittsburgh to do her post-doc work. The vows were exchanged outside and it was very hot outside. We were glad to get indoors for the reception!
Connor's party

It was a day of excitement at our house. We started the day out at Connor's bday party. He had a giant inflatable slide and lots of baby pools set up in the backyard. At first, Jack was very skeptical of going down the slide, but with a little encouragement from Connor's dad (aka, a push down), he came around. He loved it after that and must have climbed up/gone down over a hundred times.
Theo had fun eating pizza, which he loved, and hanging out in the baby pool. Then I gave him cake and he loved that. Yes, bad mom. The joys of being the second child!

Brotherly love
My boys truly do love each other. I can say that with pure confidence. Theo lights up when Jack comes around him. He watches every move he makes and loves, loves, loves to touch his brother. This morning I put Theo down on the pallet and Jack laid down next to him. What happened next is just a true representation of how the boys act around each other! Awww, melt my heart!

Last day at Kehoe

Jack came home with tons of fun stuff from his teachers at school today. He and his class will perform on Thursday, but today was the last day of class for him. I can't believe a year has passed so quickly! Mrs. Mary saved all of his artwork from the year and put it inside this box. He came home with a bunch each day, but there was more! She also made a picture book of pictures from throughout the year for me. Her present to Jack was a CD of all the songs that the kids sang and danced to this year. I popped it in the CD player and Jack showed me all of the movements. He has learned so much at Kehoe and it truly was one of the best decisions I've made for him. We'll miss Kehoe so much next year. I enrolled Jack in a private preschool closer to home (that doesn't take 3 hours roundtrip a day, that is) for next year. I can only hope he'll get as much out of it as he has at Kehoe!

I got to hold Elise again!
I finally got the brisket over to Katie and Arnaud (I was supposed to take it the day she ended up having Elise) and got to hold the sweet baby girl again while I was there. She told me lots of sweet nothings while she was dreaming and made the cutest sounds. I can't wait to see her again when she gets baptized in June.
For Lauren

Here's Theo in his bubble (aka dress). It snaps at the crotch, just like a onesie, but it's full at the bottom. Jack declared that Theo looked like a "princess" today and I quickly corrected him! This outfit is a hand-me-down from Aunt Christy and we'll only be wearing it at home. Theo is too pretty of a baby to be caught in anything resembling a dress...... b/c he already gets mistaken for a girl a lot.

Jazz in the Vines

We took the boys to listen to music at a local vineyard last night. You pack a picnic and sit amongst the vines to listen to live music. There was a great crowd last night b/c the weather was a cool 68 degrees. The boys lasted about 1 1/2 hours before pooping out. Jack ran around and danced to music (of course!!) and Theo sat on the blanket we packed and occasionally tried to eat grass. We all had a nice time.
Lego stealer!

Jack loves to build "firestations" with his legos. Well, baby brother decided to help one day. Let's just say that Jack wasn't down with this and had to leave the project for Theo to finish. Or chew on. We're learning lots of new life lessons here with Theo on the move.........
A little while later, Theo crawled over to our ottoman and I stood him up. He chewed on some magazines and then face-planted off. He is definitely not the stander that his brother was!
Happy birthday Anna Jayne!

Jack's friend Anna Jayne turned 3 today and we helped her celebrate! She had a princess party (the boys were pirates), complete with every Disney princess on her cake! Theo hung out with another little fella on the grass. I don't have many pictures b/c I was the designated photographer at the party with a different camera, but here are the shots I did get!

This and that

I went to visit Katie, Arnaud, and baby Elise yesterday while Jack was at school. Theo came with me in the stroller and I must say that he got a twinge jealous when I held the baby!! He gave me the stink eye (I think), but redeemed himself by playing a cute game of bashfulness with Katie. Elise is every bit as cute as in the pictures. She seemed so small, but then again, I've never had a baby that small! Mine come out with a steak in one hand and size 3 diapers ;)
Last night we braved the soggy ground (it's rained here for 2 solid days) and went to a concert in Mandeville. It was so much fun! Jack played with his friend Dean the entire time and Theo flirted with baby Mira (the redhead) and stared at his friend Andrew. Dave didn't get to come b/c he was driving home from Memphis. It was fun to get out with friends and have the kids socialize!
Teacher's card

Jack's last day at Kehoe is Tuesday. He has a performance with is class on Thursday (they're singing and dancing to Rockin' Robin) that we can't wait to see. I had him make a card for his teacher, Mrs. Mary, who is a saint. I swear to God, the only thing I helped him do was the /y/ in her name. He did the rest! We are so impressed with his skills!
