Viva Las Vegas

My best friend and I went to Las Vegas over Easter to celebrate her birthday. We try to get away for a girls' weekend each year but with our kids' activities and husband's travel schedules, it was slim pickings for weekends that we could both get coverage. So, Easter it was! I almost missed my red-eye flight to Houston on Friday morning to connect with Jen. Made it by the skin of my teeth! We flew over the Grand Canyon and that was a sight to see. Can't wait to see it again with the boys some day.

We stayed at The Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip and it was awesome. Jen got us a package deal that included a suite. It had a sectional with 3 tvs in the room! We enjoyed the pool one day and met some fun ladies who were also on vacation there. We went and saw the Elvis Cirque Du Soleil show on Jen's birthday and it was AMAZING. I was reluctant to agree to seeing a show but I'm so glad that Jen insisted :)

We browsed the extremely high end stores (Prada, Gucci, etc) and walked the strip to see the fountain show at the Bellagio and the volcano at the Mirage. Las Vegas is overwhelming! So much to do and you basically have to walk since traffic on the strip is horrible. I think I'll always find new things to do there!

Overall, it was so much fun :) Lots of sun, food, drinks, and time with my BFF. Oh Kaaaay?!?! :)

PPK Easter

The volunteers in PPK took pictures for me during their Easter party and field day. The kids hunted eggs and used their decorated egg cartons from the craft day. They also rotated along all of the games that Jack's class did. I could tell those little ones were hot. It was fun to see them when I was out and about on the field. I knew those volunteer moms had their hands full with 15 four year olds doing some of those games! They also had to run the hot potato game for all of the other classes.

Easter Fun

Jack and Theo participated in their school field day and Easter party today. Jack's class had been having SAT testing all week long so they were so happy to be outside playing! The weather has been horrible for several days and we weren't sure if we'd be able to do any of the games (making it the 1st time in 17 years that the Easter party wouldn't be held outside). The clouds literally parted and the mushy grounds dried up right before the party!

The kids rotated around several game stations: Easter egg match relay, hula hooping, hot potato, dodgeball, and limbo to name a few. They had tons of treats and popsicles in the classroom. I brought my face paint with me since I knew we might be stuck indoors and ended up painting bunny faces for Jack's class. They loved it and so did I :)

The Easter Bunny came around to each class so we seized the opportunity to take individual pictures. The room moms had cute treat bags embroidered for each child and they hunted their eggs indoors (limited dry area). It was a great party and the longest of the year. I was really lucky to snag this spot as only 4 moms from each class get to attend. It was the golden ticket!!

I love Jack's teacher and really cherished the opportunity to be in the classroom today. The kids are all so well behaved and polite. They make it a pleasure!

Babies everywhere!!

The boys and I had the most wonderful afternoon at Aunt Dianne's house in New Orleans. Cousin Anne is in town this month with baby Molly (she is precious!!) while JD is deployed in Afganistan. Arnaud is over in France this week and Dianne and Anne are watching Amelie and Elise for Katie during the day while she's at work. Amelie and Molly are less than 2 months apart so it's all hands on deck :) At one point Anne had Molly strapped in the Baby Bjorn and was carrying Amelie around in her arms.

I loved getting to hold both girls. They both smiled for me and were so sweet. I also loved getting to hand them back (ha ha!!).

Theo, Jack, and Elise played and played together and Theo sure did love playing with Elise's baby dolls. They both had babies (Elise has a real one...... her sister!) and were pushing them around in strollers, feeding them, and giving them baths. Theo named his baby Handsome because he's Handsome with blue eyes just like his dad. That Theo is just too cute for his own good sometimes.

I got a few good shots of Molly, who we stripped down to a diaper. She was so happy and was just smiling away for her mommy. I can't wait to come visit again later this month.
