Jack gave his grandparents a piano recital today and played 6 songs: Dreams Come True, Night Storm, Jackson Blues, Ode to Joy, Saints Go Marching In, and First Noel. He played 4 of the songs from memory and used the fingering (numbered keys from sheet music) for the remaining 2 songs. Jack introduced each song and then thanked his grandparents for coming to his recital. We were all incredibly proud!!! He was awfully proud of himself as well, especially for only have been playing the piano for about a month.
Jack picked sushi for dinner and I'm proud to report that both of his grandmothers actually ate sushi (although they protested) and liked it! The sushi chefs sent a special plate for Jack that made him feel so honored. We sang "Happy Birthday" at exactly 5:58 pm and then had Jack's favorite chocolate cake for dessert. What a fine evening it was :)
