Theo loves, loves, loves yogurt. Too bad he makes a terrible mess of himself when he eats it. I only give it to him on bath nights!!! And yes, still covering his face when I say "cheese". So now I say "macaroni"!

This n' that
Here's a pic of all of the wonderful Mother's Day cards that I got this year! I call our mantle the "celebration mantle" when we put cards up there. It's a fun place to showcase birthday cards and what not.
I took the boys to the pool at our gym today. I usually put Theo in childcare and take only Jack but I've been having mommy guilt about leaving Theo out. My main concern is that Theo has tubes in his ears and no plugs as of yet (going Thursday to have some made). Well, I gave it my best shot today and will probably not do that again any time soon. Theo hated the pool, probably b/c he has had very limited exposure (all of it being last summer when he was too young to recall going), and ended up swinging the whole time there. Jack is self sufficient in the pool and is a fish, so he's always easy to manage. The hard part came when it was time to change out of wet swimsuits...... changing swim diapers just plain sucks. Jack is too old to change in front of people at the packed pool but too young to get out of wet clothes all by himself. There was a lot of me going back and forth between the bathroom by the pool and putting Theo back down on the bench outside of the bathroom. Life would be so much easier on me if I had a clone!!!

Mother's Day
Dave was a saint this weekend and really gave me a great Mother's Day. I got a hot stone massage yesterday (heaven!) and then was surprised with pink roses (my favorite). Jack came in this morning and gave me his present from school. It was a calendar made up of his art work, handprints and footprints. So cute!! We headed to Baton Rouge early this morning to meet Gigi and Dada for brunch. Here is a couple of pictures of Gigi with the boys (remember, Theo covers his eyes when he says "cheese") and of the flowers that we brought Gigi. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!!!

Ch-ch-changes
I've been slowly changing up the playroom into a more sophisticated area for the boys (and me to look at!!) over the past week. First came the bookshelf and baskets, next came the storage ottoman, then Dave lugged down the tv stand and we had the satellite guy come and hook up the tv....... and finally came some seating! Dave went and picked up this loveseat today and it's the perfect size for the room. The train table is huge and takes up a large chunk of the playroom, but I think having it angled like this will work. Theo can still squeeze by and play, Jack can sit on the loveseat and lounge, and I can hide toys away in baskets and the ottoman. It's a win-win. There is room in the left corner of the room (nearest the kitchen) for the computer armoire that I ordered. It's small and compact and will be perfect for Jack to sit at and fiddle on educational websites. He currently does this upstairs all alone and I'd much rather have him near by for the days he is surfing the world wide web!
Now we're just waiting on a painter to come and give estimates for painting this room to a spa-like blue. Help me decide if he should paint under the chair rail, leave it white, or paint everything but the wainscoating. The chair rail and wainscoating extend from the entry way and go all the way up the stairs.... but there is a distinct border from the play room to the entry way. I'm leaning towards painting it all and getting rid of the drab white. I'm open to opinions though!!

Having fun
Jack's best little friend Graysen came over today after school to play. The boys ran outside and worked up a nice sweat (gotta love humidity!) and then changed into their superhero costumes. They would not hold still for a picture, but do any kids? Theo indulged in some yogurt after dinner. He didn't make too terribly bad of a mess feeding himself. Gotta love runny foods and little hands! The direct tv guy came out and hooked up the DVR in the playroom today. The boys now have a tv of their own! I got to actually watch and HEAR Entertainment Tonight while I ate dinner and the boys read books before bath time. So sweet!!!

Dragon balls
Kind of a racy title...... but Theo loves to play with these crazy things just as much as Jack does. Jack got them out today and then left with Dave to run errands. Theo seized the opportunity to play, all alone no less. Notice the Power Ranger and the baby doll stroller in the background. Cracks me up!

Disney on Ice
I took the boys to Disney on Ice this morning over in New Orleans. We timed it just right thanks to a quick visit to cousin Katie and Arnaud's house to kill some time (thanks guys!!!) and walked in right as the lights were dimming. Both kids were in awe of the show and sat perfectly still enjoying the sights. We left at intermission since Theo was starting to get a little restless and it was lunch time. Theo is saying "cheese" in the picture of him covering his eyes. Guess he wanted to play "peek a boo" too!
