Cinco de Mayo
I made sombrero cookies for Jack's class to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. They also ate chips and salsa. Theo got to enjoy a cookie at home with his brother :-)

Proud of my boys!
Jack is playing baseball like a rock star this year. He got the game ball at the second game for 3 great hits, a few awesome plays at 2nd base, faster running, and listening to his coach. His confidence has really taken off under the guidance of his coach. Dave and I are thrilled with the team he's with this season. He's even been helping out at Theo's practices!
Theo started a new reader at school, his third for the year. This happens to be the reader Jack started with when we transferred him to Lake Castle. Theo is a strong reader and I credit it all to the curriculum at school. I had to do all of the leg work for Jack and teach him phonics at home. It's been a dream to only review this all with Theo!

Jack's season opener
Jack started a new season with the Pirates. His buddy from school plays on the team. It's machine pitch this year, which will take some getting used to, for sure. Jack made good contract with the ball and had several foul balls. His team ended up winning 5-0. Go Pirates!
Theo's first game
It was a big day for Theo! He had his first game with the Ironbirds and did great. He even got a sports drink for his hard work. Go Theo!

Fun Day
Jack and Theo had their school fair on Saturday. There were tons of fun games to play, inflatables, and prizes for the kids. Each class in lower school performed a class dance. Theo's class dance to Hakuna Matata and dressed up like jungle animals. Jack's class dance to Dancing Queen and dressed up like hippies. Our budget for costumes was low, so we couldn't swing 70s wear :-) Both boys did a great job!

Baseball Fever
Both boys have started baseball. Theo is playing t ball for the Ironbirds and Jack is a Pirate. Theo's practices are hilarious! The kids generally don't have any clue on what to do. Jack's team, however, is doing phenomenal! The kids can throw from 3rd base to 1st with ease. The catcher actually understands his objective as well. The games starts next weekend.

French Quarter Fest
Cameron and I worked the beer tent for the 3rd year in a row. The weather was awful initially. I had to delay crossing the bridge because of severe thunder storms. It finally cleared up and ended up being a great day. I learned how to pour beer this year instead of only manning the cash registers. I can't wait for next year to do it again!
