Sky VBS
VBS started today at church and the theme is Sky this year. The decorations around church are amazing! Jack has a buddy from swim team in his class and loves having a friend there. Theo is in a preschool room with a kitchen, so he's in heaven :) There are over 600 kids this year. I lucked out and score the preschool photographer gig. It's pretty sweet, especially compared to last year when I worked in the 3 year old room. Ha!!!
Mr. Fabulous
Theo came across one of Dave's bow ties and insisted on wearing it around town this past weekend. Good thing he's cute.......... he can pull it off! Jack will be in the Winnie the Pooh play at church next month and was cast as the Green Narrator. Time to start learning lines!

Pinterest Art
I purchased some art lessons from a pinterest link and we completed one of the lessons today. Swim practice was rained out and we needed something to do! I let them do one exactly from the lesson and then another that was totally a free for all. Jack made his cow in New Your City (ha!! See the Statue of Liberty in the background?), and Theo did Peres (he spelled that himself, so proud!!).
Rainy day
We've been getting afternoon showers pretty regularly lately, and while great for the plants, it's not been great for swim team practice (4:45-6:15 pm). It was touch and go yesterday, but the kids ended up having a relaxed practice in the light rain. Theo has been working on diving in the water in preparation for next weeks swim meet. He's swimming sooooooooooo slowly right now that it's going to be a long way down the lane at the meet. I know Theo can do it though!!!
Jack went and got the 2nd book in the Harry Potter series from the library. He's been furiously reading it and already 5 chapters in. I can't wait for our next movie night when he's finished!

While Dave was in the hospital.........
Poor Dave had to go to the emergency room on Wednesday morning with excruciating stomach pain. It ended up being appendicitis and he had surgery a few hours later. A good friend took both boys for me so I could go sit by his side. The surgeon still hadn't come to see Dave by the time his parents arrived.
Theo had a party at Chuck E Cheese's planned that afternoon to celebrate him stopping finger sucking. The blue gloves worked their magic and he just quit cold turkey! A few of his friends came along to join in on the fun at our brand new CEC. Dave got called back for surgery right as we got there, but his parents were already there so we decided to stay. Kids and hospitals don't really mix too well.
Theo had an amazing day at CEC and was treated like a king. He was the first party there since the CEC just opened 2 days prior. I think they included things that I didn't pay for and we all kind of laughed off the birthday singing and such. Let's just say every child there wants their next birthday party at CEC after Theo's non-birthday party :) Maybe this party will be a good investment that will save us from braces. Time will tell!

I just wanted to thank Faith from A Design of Faith for this awesome custom design! The blog is bright and cheery now and goes so well with the latest pictures we had taken of the boys.
I love it and hope you do too! Check out Faith's tab at the bottom of the blog if you are in the market for a new blog background :)

Book Worm
Jack finished up Harry Potter this morning! Big day around here. He's been reading it for several weeks now, a few pages at night. Once school got out, he kicked up the pace and got through all 309 pages by himself. I didn't read a single page to him. He did read the book out loud so I could make sure he was "getting" it.
We watched Sorcerer Stone tonight to celebrate Jack finishing the book. Theo did not join us in this special viewing since he had a rough afternoon and ended up on the punishment card :( Jack and I snuggled up on the couch together under a blanket and ate candy while the movie was going. I think I'll always remember this night! He was telling me each event as it happened, which chapter that was from, and if that part was different from the book. I'm not sure who was more proud, but it might not have been me.......
Now he's on to Wimpy Kid. Several of his friends are reading that book. I think we are going to be regulars at the library this summer.
And not to leave out Theo; he read me two books today and 2 last night. I take a light approach with him. I always say we'll read it together and usually try to alternate pages. Sometimes I can get him to start off and keep going...... and going :) And I've been amazed at the words he's read to me. He's stepping up his sight words and sounding out new words.
