Happy 6th to Alyssa!

Jack has been friends with Alyssa since he was one month old! Now she's turning 6 (same actual birthday as Theo and our cousin Cody) and in the Kindergarten class next door to Jack's! These two go way back and it's been fun to see them grow up together. Alyssa had her party at Young Chef's Academy this morning. The kids made pizza from scratch and then watched Alyssa open her gifts while they baked. The kids sang to her over pizza instead of cake and then everyone got to blow out a candle on their pizzas :) Happy 6th birthday, Alyssa!!!

Saintsation?

Today was black and gold day at preschool so Theo reluctantly posed for these pictures for me. Screamed and whined the whole time is more like it. Guess he wears his Saints spirit on the inside :p

Bye Snoopy!

Snoopy went back to school today with Jack. Jack woke up and showed Snoopy all of his Star Wars legos (sensing an obsession??) and then put together a small starship thingy for him. He likes to take apart and put back together the kits. If he doesn't grow up to be an engineer of some sort I'm going to be so surprised.

Snoopy comes to visit

Jack's Kindergarten teacher LOVES Snoopy so naturally Snoopy is the class mascot! He rides home with each child in the class in his special Snoopy backpack and then we write about what we did with Snoopy in his special Snoopy journal. I took these pictures of the boys and Snoopy and have to go print them out to include in the journal. Jack watched Super Friends with Snoopy and Theo, then we ate dinner and headed to the gym. Snoopy looked at a Star Wars book in the car while I worked out and the kids were in childcare :) Jack read him the book on the ride home. It was sweet. Snoopy will keep going home with each child in the class until the journal is full.......... so we look forward to having him here again soon!

It's what's for dinner........

Sushi, that is. My kids love sushi as much as I do! Problem is, they love it so much and eat so much of it, it's an expensive meal for the three of us. You can't tell but Theo totally has a whole roll in his mouth. He just plops them in and goes to town :)

In other news, guess who is parking in her garage again. Ding ding ding!!! Me :)

Tea with the Queen

My Mom's club had a morning out for tea at the English Tea Room and it was truly great! I hadn't been there in years so it was a real treat to enjoy lunch without interruption :) Here we are with Queen Elizabeth, who kindly joined us for a picture :)

Theo's 1st day at Cedarwood!

Theo had a half day at school today and I'm already in love with his little friends :) He's got a diverse group (which I LOVE- growing up in Houston, that's what I'm used to) and an equal mix of boys and girls. He slept in late this morning and I actually sent Jack to wake him up at 7:45!! I let him open his cards (Mimi and Papa gave him $5 too!!) and then we got ready to go pretty soon after that. He was still waking up a bit and was giving me grief about something but then I gave him his backpack and he was all smiles again. I had a friend monogram this and look how darling it turned out :)

There are 10 kids in his class this year with Ms. Angerdina (Jack's old 3 year old teacher). He went right in and started playing with no hesitation. I came in at lunch time and got to see him feeding himself jambalaya, green beans and pears. He took his plate and put it in the trash when he was finished and then drank his milk. I love how Cedarwood really teaches the kids responsibility. He also sat on the potty but nothing happened today. Maybe the routine of it all will make something click..... until then, we're rocking pull ups.

I also got to go in to Jack's classroom today and volunteered with center time. I helped the kids put paper strips over a gingerbread man and then put on eyes, a nose and buttons. His class is not diverse at all but is equally split between boys and girls. All of the kids were so cute and sweet (to me)but boy do I give his teacher MAJOR props for handling 18 five year olds all by herself. I do look forward to volunteering in both classrooms this year :)
