Most of you know already that I'm in Houston with the boys and that Dave stayed in Baton Rouge to be closer to home. Good thing he did b/c he just went back to the house and a huge pine tree from the woods behind us fell towards our house. We have a gigantic oak tree that took the brunt of the fall. From what Dave described to me, the oak lost a sizeable chunk of it's large branches and our patio was demolished by the pine. Some of the oak branches shattered the window in our kitchen and the glass is everywhere in the house. He took pictures to help us with insurance claims and eventually I'll get to post them here.
Our left side neighbors took a portion of a pine tree through the roof of their house and the right side neighbors seem to escaped any damage that he could tell. Power is supposed to be restored by the 6th and I'll just have to see how things look before I head back with the boys.
