Jen's birthday

My friend Kristen and her husband, Abel, have a party barge that totally rocks! 22 cup holders and an awesome sound system make for a good time. Our buddy Jen celebrated her birthday on the barge and we all had a blast. We took turns being towed on a float and enjoyed a signature drink made by the birthday girl herself in between. I loved my maiden voyage on Anchor Management.

Lynn Meadows Discovery Center

We are still a week away from going back to school so we headed west to Gulfport today to the children's museum. The place was completely empty since all the schools are back.  We got asked if we home school :-)

Jack and Michael climbed in the tower and ran all over the place! Jack also spent a great deal of time in the science area, learning all about the nervous system and currents. Theo and Molly played in the grocery store and on the fishing boat. All of the kids went in the art room, though Theo preferred to mix paint instead of completing his project.

We wrapped up the day by seeing Odd Life of Timothy Green. Theo has been talking about this movie for weeks and was so excited to finally see it. It's a tearjerker!  Bring a tissue for that one.

Summer Daze

We are in the dog days of summer over here. All of the other schools have started back and we still have a week of summer left. I've gotten the boys back into a school routine and that has been brutal! Things are improving though and the cobwebs are getting swept aside.

We've also been having lots of fun while beating the heat. Mimi ordered Domino Rally for Jack and he's really enjoyed playing with it. We attended a back to school swim party today with swim team friends. Boy is it hot outside though! Is it the22nd yet?? :-)

Anniversary photo shoot

We got our prints back from the photo shoot we did on China Beach at sunset on our last day in San Francisco.  The pictures are like works of art and I'm thrilled to have them as keepsakes from that trip!

Cool Zoo

The boys and I met up with Michael and Molly at the water park within Audubon Zoo today.  The kids had an absolute blast and not even a 2 hour rain delay could get them down :-)

Woodlands Retreat

The boys and I traveled to Houston this weekend so they could stay with Mimi and Papa while I had a weekend with my sorority sisters in The Woodlands. We had the best time ever and had a blast at the pool on Saturday. Best friends are forever! Thank you Mimi and Papa for taking Jack and Theo for the weekend :-)

Pizza Pizza

The boys made personal pizzas today from a kit.  We had a picnic in the living room while watching Harry Potter. Still in a heat advisory here!
