Mardi Gras museum

Theo and I killed time before the wedding yesterday by having breakfast in the French Quarter with Uncle Miller and Aunt Sarah (and baby Rowan) and then by walking around the Mardi Gras museum in the Cabildo. I hadn't been there in years and now there is a whole Katrina exhibit downstairs, but Theo didn't much care for any of that. He liked seeing the costumes, floats, throws and Cajun Mardi Gras exhibits though! It was the perfect way to let him burn off some energy and walk around before getting into his tux later that day.

Patrick and Meredith's rehearsal

Theo was the ring bearer for Patrick and Meredith's wedding this weekend in New Orleans. He walked with Elise, Patrick's niece and Theo's cousin, down the aisle and they both did great!!! I made "busy bags" for them to play with at the church and rehearsal dinner (at August in the French Quarter)and that worked for a little while. Theo walked down the aisle with confidence and held Elise's hand the entire time. He even walked nice and slow! I was thrilled :)

The rehearsal dinner was great. I had to steal little Amelie and hold her for a bit. She's a whole month old now. Patrick and Meredith's geese were all dressed up for the party :) Patrick's friends call him "Goose" and now Meredith is "Mrs. Goose". Love it!

BCS game

Dave and Gigi went to the LSU championship game in the Superdome on Monday. This is how they left for the game and then how they returned. It was a horrible game to watch but we're still proud of the perfect record that the Tigers achieved this season. Bama had an ax to grind and totally changed up their plays from last game and the Tigers were unprepared. On to the 2012-13 season though......... Geaux Tigers!

Mimi's retirement party

Mimi had her retirement party at her school yesterday, ending a 31 year career in education. Her co-workers and friends threw an amazing reception for her and tons of old friends, co-workers and family attended. The boys and I were there in spirit and wished we could have been there in person. We sent her flowers so she would have a part of us there with her yesterday though! We're so proud of Mimi and the lives she has touched.

Taking down Christmas

Mardi Gras season is in full swing around here and my house is decked out! I'm waiting on decorative accents to place around my door to come in the mail. The living room is Mardi Gras central and the kitchen and bathroom are reserved for Valentine's Day (often co-occurring with Mardi Gras).

Shootin' and football

Mimi and Papa gave the boys a Nerf gun and a marshmallow shooter for Christmas. Theo enjoys shooting marshmallows because you can eat the "ammo". Ha ha. Dave set up a target for the boys in the backyard and they had a great time practicing yesterday.

And here is Theo's latest Art Time creation...... Drew Brees! I'm not sure I could have done much better myself :)

Zip-lining in Belize

Here are some pictures that a fellow zip-liner and cruiser took of me waiting to zip and going! We were in the rainforest of Belize and it was truly beautiful up there in the trees :) If only you could see how high up we were! We also rappelled straight down from our perch in the trees. It was the experience of a lifetime and I'm very thankful to my new friend, Becky, for taking these pictures and sending them to me. Thank you!!
