Today Jack's school held a graduation ceremony for Pre-K and Kindergarten. Each class had their own room and we lucked out by getting in the 2nd row! We found out that Jack was getting an honor award for 2nd highest average when we opened the program and saw his name. He and the first overall average winner stood on the front row together (which was great for pictures and the video Dave shot)! The class was all introduced, presented with their bags containing their diplomas and award certificates, and then the kids performed two songs for the crowd.
Gigi and Dada were able to come to the ceremony. We definitely felt the love from everyone who wasn't able to come though :) I took pictures of all of Jack's certificates (his GPA was 95.6, winning him 2nd place overall, and he got math, reading and spelling certificates for scoring over 90% in those areas). We also got the results from the Stanford Achievement Test back in April and Jack scored above grade level in every area! That's how his school tracks how the students are performing as a whole.
It was really a great day and we enjoyed seeing some of the other parents that we've met from birthday parties this Spring. We really credit Mrs. Casrill, the Assistant Principal, and Mrs. Toombs, his teacher, for making Jack's first semester a very positive one! He made little friends in his class (Michael and Cameron) who we look forward to seeing over the summer.
Happy graduation, Jack! We're super proud of you!
