New friends

Jazz in the Vines started up last weekend here. It's an outdoor concert held on the grounds of a vineyard. Everyone has a picnic and the kids roam around in a field behind the picnickers. We invited a family from Theo's preschool class who just recently moved here from Scotland. Adults and kids alike had a great time!

Thursday

Theo and I started a yoga class on Thursdays and decided to head to the park afterwards with some friends from the class. Gotta enjoy Spring while we can, huh? Theo was having such a great time in at the park that we stayed for close to 3 hours. The boys both needed haircuts after we picked up Jack. Now we can see Theo's eyebrows again! Jack started baseball practice Thursday night. I left my phone at home that night but I promise to snap pictures next week!!!

Something fishy

Jack's school has been taking the Stanford Achievement Test all week long so we've enjoyed a week of NO HOMEWORK! I'm so in the routine of homework that it's been a refreshing change :) We drove over to Hammond and enjoyed the Discovery Center there after school one day. Gigi drove over and had dinner with us. The kids picked sushi so Gigi bravely tried a crunchy roll. Here they are decorating a fish at the Discovery Center. They both had a great time!

Learning to write

I got this cool dry erase board at Michael's a while ago and busted it out today for Theo. We started first with a workbook for lower case letters and then moved on to the dry erase board. I rewarded him with Skittles (rewards are very important for a motivated student) and he was happy to go to town! The gripper is really helping him grasp his pen and pencil correctly for writing. I'm so proud of Theo!

Frame worthy

Theo is turning in to our resident artiste'. He grabbed the markers (the ones that still had caps.. having issues with that) and whipped up this fine family portrait. Notice the sweet yellow sun. I hope it's the first of many masterpieces to come!

Soccer wrap up

Jack's team played their last soccer game on Saturday! He really came far with his skills this season and we look forward to doing soccer again in the fall. He even got a trophy and that made him super proud!

Now we're on to baseball and practice starts this Thursday. No rest for the weary :)

Fun in the sun

I took the boys to Gulfport (MS) to meet up with cousin Cameron for a day of fun at the beach. Not exactly Destin quality but the public beach was fantastic! Access to a bathroom, shower and chair rental were all a plus. The boys had a ball too. Jack was all in the water (very shallow) and befriended other little boys while we were there. Theo hung out on the shore and played in the sand. I even got them snoballs (yellow for Theo- his obsession and cotton candy blue for Jack).

Cameron and I soaked up the sun..... literally. My first exposure to sun in a long time proved to be more powerful than my sunscreen. Ooops. Too bad I wasn't covered from head to toe like my boys! I love me some long sleeve rash guards :)
