Pictures from school

Jack's teacher, Mrs. Bell, emailed me these pictures from our visit to his class on Friday. Mimi and Mama had just flown in so we picked him up around lunch. Mrs. Bell told me how Jack assembled a house using magnets and that he had followed the picture directions. Little does she know that Jack is obsessed with Transformers and that he and Daddy refer to the picture directions all of the time. Guess his obsession is coming in handy ;) Go Jack!

Theo's 1st day of MDO

Theo started up in the two-year old class at Mother's Day Out this morning! I took in a box of gummy treats for his new friends to celebrate his birthday (I had bought sugar cookies with colored icing, but Dave talked me out of it saying that the teachers wouldn't appreciate that at all). Theo didn't cry and went right in with no trouble. Now I'll have 8 whole hours to myself a week! Pure heaven!

Theo's new wheels

Theo got the gift of all gifts for his birthday- a truck!! It's an exact match to Dave's work truck! We made the leap to motorized wheels and the boys couldn't be more thrilled! Theo wasn't quite sure what to do so Jack took over for the first test drive. The battery still needs to be charged for several more hours, so the ride was brief. Theo was loving the passenger life and Jack was a quick study behind the wheel. A huge thank you to Gigi and Dada, Mimi and Papa, Mama, Grandvonnie and Great-grandpa Marv and Granny Cheryl for contributing towards the purchase of this truck!!!!

Official birthday!

Theo officially turned two at 11:16 am today! Dave and I sang him happy birthday and had him blow out a candle :) Then Theo demanded "cake" b/c we've gotten him used to eating after we sing to him! Ha ha. Luckily we had one cupcake cone left and he devoured it. His present from family is in and we have to go get it. That will be a post in itself!

Here Theo is with a tractor present from his friend Blake. And his Spiderman balloon. And his cupcake cone :) And his "celebration mantle".

How quickly two years have flown by! This time two years ago we were at the hospital wondering if a baby boy or a baby girl was going to join our family. We're so blessed to have this baby boy!! We love you, Theo!!!

Theo's 2nd birthday party!

We're so thrilled that Theo actually got a real birthday party this year. His first birthday was spent in Houston while Gustav was bearing down on Louisiana. All the fun stuff I had for his party went unused and I'm still a little bitter ;P Today we had a pool party for him at our subdivision pool with a handful of his friends. Theo loved swimming around in the big pool and walking around in the baby pool.

Theo's friends Mira, Juliet, Scott, Paige, Alyssa, Dean and Anna Jayne helped him celebrate. It was a perfect day and the pool water was nice and refreshing! The theme was dinosaurs and "Theosaurus" and his friends feasted on dinosaur plates with crazy sippy straw cups. I made cupcake cones for the kids and cupcakes for the adults. Theosaurus got his own mini cake and dove right in! He blew out his candles like a pro and then went back in the water for more swimming. He was worn out by the time he opened his presents. I guess it's been a while since he's opened anything so he wasn't sure what to do!

All in all, it was a WONDERFUL party, celebrated with our good friends and family. How blessed we are!

Beignets with Blake

I met up with my friend Frances today for beignets and coffee! Frances and I go way back to the days when Jack and her daughter Madeline were about a year old and running around Toddlearn. Flash forward to now when we have Blake and Theo running around Cafe Du Monde while Frances and I tried to catch up! Blake turns 3 soon goes to school with his big sister. Frances and I don't get to see each other much anymore but that's what Facebook is for, right? :)
