Story time

Theo is obsessed with this picture book of Jack's. He crawls around the house and lugs it along. He'll flip through it and really look at the pictures! Jack loves to look at it also, mainly since his brother is interested in it. Yes, we have a little green-eyed monster sometimes :) Here the monkeys are listening to Daddy read them the book.

Happy birthday Mommy!

Yep, it's my birthday. Jack had summer camp today, so Theo and I met my friend Theresa and her little boy Aidan for lunch. Theo and Aidan are under 3 months apart and seem to have fun together. Theo enjoyed using his sippy cup. It doesn't happen too often b/c he is quite the bottle lover. Look out Suri Cruise.... Theo will take your place as the 2 year old on the bottle at this rate!

In other news, we put up the baby gate this weekend. Theo has mastered the art of climbing stairs. It will be a while until he can learn to safely scale them, and more importantly, to come down them. We rigged up a gate that Jack can operate easily so it hasn't been too much of a hassle yet.

I'm very blessed to have my two boys. They are the best birthday gift ever :)

Our 4th

We went to our subdivision party in the morning for some swimming and music. Theo dipped in the baby pool for a bit. It's so much work getting him ready for the pool that it's almost not worth it! Jack swam like a fish in the big pool with daddy. He also enjoyed the gigantic slide for most of the party.

That evening, we headed out to the Seafood Festival for some live music and food. Theo danced to the music and Jack enjoyed a yummy snoball. I shared mine with Theo and he loved it as well. We took a school bus shuttle to and from the fest and Jack was in heaven! Theo stood on Daddy's legs on the way home and could see over the seat. That tickled him to no end since he is usually reversed in the car, staring at the backseat.

We had a great weekend overall. Lots of cleaning in the kitchen and just general family time.

Happy 4th of July

Jack is at Kehoe summer camp this week and next. Today the kids had a parade for the 4th of July and made these cute shirts. We all had to miss it b/c we were hurrying back to the house to wait for installers. Turns out we'll be waiting till Tuesday for our new gas stove to be hooked up due to a part the installer didn't bring. Fun times. Theo has been a terror lately. Crawling is soooooo over-rated. He's into everything and pulls up on anything he comes across. He often falls and hits his head b/c he's pulling up on things that aren't steady. He's cutting 4 teeth and has fluid behind his ears, making him really pleasant to be around. All he wants to do it drink formula.... the boy polished off two cans in 3 days. That's a record. I'll have to play dumb when he's 50 lbs at his one year visit.

New countertops!

Bye bye white formica...... hello granite! I will not miss the white on white that we've been rockin for 2 years. Now I just have to get my sink and faucets hooked up and I'm in business!

Tubes!

Theo is going to have tubes put in his ears on July 15th. I'm super excited by this since he's had a string of ear infections for months now. He currently has fluid behind both eardrums and the ENT is sure his hearing is diminished about 30% from the fluid. I told him I was concerned about Jack's huge tonsils and he said he'd peek at them at our post-op visit.

Theo's blond locks are starts to go wild. His hair never fell out after he was born, so we're going on 10 months of growth here. And the bedhead is starting up. Notice the band of hair sticking straight up. We had Jack's hair cut at around this age, but I just can't bear to do it yet. I'm going to hold out to see if it will curl. Dave's hair had curls and I'm hoping Theo's will as well. When he gets hot, his hair does curl up..... so I'm going to wait it out and see what happens. If it doesn't cooperate with my plan..... off to the barber!
