6 long years

Yes, that's how long it's been since I've picked up a paintbrush. What on earth possessed me to try again after so long? White walls in the boys' bathroom! I was so sick of them and got a wild hair to paint. I did 80% of it while Theo napped yesterday and then finished the trim work after I put the boys down that night. This morning I put everything back in the bathroom. What do you think? The theme is dinosaurs (very loosely) and it all started with a Pottery Barn gift card that my friend Melissa sent Theo when he was born. I got the shower curtain, rug and towels. It started the ball rolling and now it's complete. Jack is very proud to say that he helped. I let him roll a few times. Thanks Jack!!

Fun with Connor

We met up with a bunch of friends today at the waterspouts. We stop and get sno balls on the way to help beat the heat. Jack was super excited to see his friend Connor Cappo (this is what he calls him. We know lots of Connors!) Theo's friend, Andrew, was there as well. I couldn't resist getting matching swim trunks for the boys. Theo wasn't really feeling the water today, but he did enjoy that sno ball :)

Last day of swim lessons

Jack finished up his two weeks of swim lessons. He goes under water now and swims like a fish (for short spurts of course). I have a feeling that Daddy will be taking Jack to the pool a lot on weekends!

Moving up

I found his two ring pool in our storage closet under the stairs and put the boys in it yesterday. They both took monster afternoon naps (till 5:45 pm), so we needed to do something outdoorsy when they woke up. Pool time turned into bath time since it was nearly 7pm by the time we went inside. It's been raining here every afternoon and it really messes with my plans to go back to the waterspouts. I'm going to try again today...... wish us luck!

Father's day

After the baby naming, we went to Dave's folks' house to celebrate Father's Day. Theo crawled all over the place and Jack had several "moments" where we really had to remind him to share toys with his brother. He thinks all toys are his, b/c technically, they were until Theo rolled around. The boys played roll the ball down the long hallway in Gigi's house and Jack let Theo play with a ball with much coaxing. I snapped this picture of Dave at 6 months old. Think he resembles Theo or Jack?

Gary's baby naming

We trekked over to Baton Rouge today for Gary's baby naming ceremony (a Jewish ceremony where the baby is giving a Hebrew name) and got to meet the newest addition to the Weill family. Gary is turning one next month and is already walking and running :) He's just as cute as can be and made a friend with Theo. Theo had an off day and wasn't really up for playing, but I'm sure they'll become fast friends next time they meet.

Mega watt smile

We promised Jack a Spiderman bicycle when he got pottytrained, so today Daddy took him out to get one. Jack has been doing awesome with the whole potty thing and it is fabulous to only have one kid in diapers. Jack is in love with his bike and can pedal it pretty well. His smile speaks for itself. We feel the same way!
