Jack celebrated his 5th birthday today at a laser tag and arcade place with all boys (and Alyssa). We kept the party small and thank goodness we did...... this was a fast-paced party! There was a schedule outside our party room and we stuck to it! Laser game at 11:15, pizza at 11:30, glow in the dark mini golf at 12, cake and presents at 12:15 and the final game of laser tag at 12:45. Sounds like a lot... but it was great! We got tons of tokens for arcade games in between the activities. Jack took a bit to warm up to laser tag but once he saw his friends go in with gusto, he was sold.
The party had a Scooby Doo theme. Jack is really into Scooby these days and we found out at the party that most of Jack's friends are into Scooby as well :) Must be a 5 year old boy thing! He loved his cake and enjoyed the icing (he never eats the cake part). Theo ate about 15 chocolate cookies and Dada corralled him in the mini golf section.
Tomorrow is Jack's actual birthday is tomorrow. He's got the family presents to open and has requested a hamburger dinner out. Five years sure have flown by. Bittersweet, for sure.
